Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the chunk. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. In this way, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, which provides the dog with all the essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Spices
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among other things, has its origins thousands of years ago. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Afghan Hound Specific Vegetables, Herbs and Fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Afghan Hound. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Afghan Hound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Afghan Hound.
Marigold
The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like the goldenrod, belongs to the composite family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for many years for its various medicinal properties. The original calendula species probably grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is hardly found in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.
There is a lot of information about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to dog food by us because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints in relation to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes and feet. Especially good for the recovery of the skin and mucous membranes, it has an anti-inflammatory and regenerative effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestion process.
Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems. But it can also be used internally because of its regenerative properties.
Root
The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fibers. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the construction of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for the coat and skin.
At Yourdog we add carrot to dog food because this can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints in relation to the coat and skin of the dog. But also to promote good vision and healthy digestion.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is said to have come to the Netherlands for the first time around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which helps maintain healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C, as well as antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive to bacteria. Adding cranberries can also have a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. The healthy fiber in cranberries has a healthy effect on digestion and ensures a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions.
