Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the chunk. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Portuguese Water Dog Specific Vegetables, Herbs and Fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Portuguese Water Dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Portuguese Water Dog belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Portuguese Water Dog.
Yucca
This plant grows in the deserts of Southwest America and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used for centuries by the Indians in these areas as a medicine against rheumatism and arthritis. It slows down the pain and inflammation in the joints.
Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis, the intestines and the heart. Yucca can also ensure that the stool smells less strong and helps with smelly flatulence.
Parsley
Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the umbellifer family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley fights. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhea, anemia and ear infections. It is full of iron more than, for example, spinach. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.
At Yourdog we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to blood, heart and kidneys.
Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A and K. This can contribute to the immune system and the eyes and can the cardiovascular system and the liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, which keeps the dog's bladder free of contamination.
Root
The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fibers. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the construction of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for the coat and skin.

Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you make the right choice between our Portuguese Water Dog dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Portuguese Water Dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Portuguese Water Dog older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Portuguese Water Dog Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Portuguese Water Dog does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. Switching advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend that you follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Portuguese water dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. That is why it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to put it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
