The feeding place: Feeding can start as soon as it starts to freeze. Scatter the food on the ground in open places so that the birds do not run the risk of being eaten by cats lurking between the bushes. Another option is to place a feeding board or a feeding house/tube that hangs from a branch with a rope. The cats can only look up at that with great relish. Place the feeding board in a sunny and windless place, preferably where you can keep an eye on them from behind the window. Make sure that there is a roof above the feeding board so that the food does not get wet or disappear under a snow shower. Furthermore, it is also not interesting to place the feeding board close to large trees, garden sheds, pergolas etc. where cats can jump off.
